new oldies

There have been several events/activities in the last few months with photos that I would like to share, but I have had no time to share them. I know, I know, you are sick of hearing how hectic my life is but it is the truth. So until I get caught up, this post will be pinned at the top with links to new blog entries with old dates. That way you won't miss seeing/reading them, and I can keep them in date order. The perfectionist in me likes to keep things organized.

russian to a party

What is that, you ask, as you stare at the picture in horror. Don't worry, it isn't blood. No one got hurt. It is burgundy nail polish on our bathroom tile floor. My dear Dylan decided to open the cabinet where I keep my nail polish and carry 2 bottles in one little hand across the bathroom to me, while I was sitting on the edge of the bathtub chatting on the phone with my mom. It is the only cabinet w/o a child proof lock and he never has had an interest in it until today.

I should have taken a picture of the scene before I wiped up the excess puddles of polish & vacuumed the glass, but my initial reaction was "Oh shit! What do I do? Paper towels. Vacuum. You (Dylan) stay there" and off I ran.

Thankfully, I knew the manufacturer and style name of the tile and was able to call them. Hopefully they would have an answer, and they did. Since the tile is porcelain, I was able to use nail polish remover to get most of it up.

However, I was not so lucky with the grout since it is porous. Looks like it will have to be re-grouted. A fun project for Bryan while on Paternity leave, no?

After two hours on my hands & knees breathing in nail polish remover fumes (at 39 weeks 5 days pregnant) I gave up. This is the best I could do. Looks like we will have to replace this tile along with the grout. The rest I can live with. One out of eight tiles, not bad.

Here is Dylan pointing out the mess and saying "Oh no!"

If this doesn't kick start my labor, I don't know what will!

Thankfully the rugs are red so the spots on them are not really noticeable. I may be able to cut them out. Somehow Dylan managed to avoid all the splatter. He didn't get a speck on himself. Yay!

PS: In case you were wondering, the title of my post is the color of the polish. ;)
