new oldies

There have been several events/activities in the last few months with photos that I would like to share, but I have had no time to share them. I know, I know, you are sick of hearing how hectic my life is but it is the truth. So until I get caught up, this post will be pinned at the top with links to new blog entries with old dates. That way you won't miss seeing/reading them, and I can keep them in date order. The perfectionist in me likes to keep things organized.

Just Me & D

Bryan left on March 3rd to go back to DI Duty. He has been home nights and weekends for the last 5 weeks because he was in Marine Combat Instructor Water Survival (MCIWS) school. He graduated on the 2nd and went back to being a Drill Instructor at 0730 on the 3rd.

I get to talk to him for about 10 minutes every other day. He calls me when he is out running an errand....like last night when he had to drive over to the Naval Hospital to pick up a recruit that was injured. I wonder how that car ride back to the Recruit Depot was. I bet that recruit didn't move the whole ride back. Lucky for him (the recruit) it is a short distance. It is hard to picture Bryan yelling at anyone, huh? I can't picture it. I don't think he has ever yelled or raised his voice at me, and there are times when I have deserved it. I am sure of that!

Bryan was able to come home briefly on Thursday though. He had to go to Camp Pendleton on Friday so he was able to come home for the night. He got home at 11PM threw his clothes in the washer, ate dinner, and then went to bed at about 11:30PM. He was up at 4:00AM. He said that was the most sleep he has got in the last 5 days. A whole whopping 4.5 hours! He said he averages about 2-3 hours of sleep a night. How the heck anyone can function on that little sleep is unknown to me. I can barely function after 8 hours of sleep.

Before Bryan went to bed he wanted to peek in on Dylan sleeping, and this is how we found him:

Dylan & I will be going to MCRD tomorrow morning to drop off some of Bryan's gear. Hopefully we will be able to see him and bring him breakfast, rather than just put the gear in his truck and come back home. We'll see....

It always amazes me how kids sleep - they can definitely sleep anywhere and in any position! That would be nice!

Gosh, I admire anyone that can be away from their husband that long. I certainly couldn't make it. You are awesome!

I wish I could sleep in positions like that. haha.
