santa baby
We tried to go see Santa on Wednesday. Bryan had most of the week off but he had to go into work on Wednesday at 3:00 PM and work over night. Anyway, we went to the mall around noon-thirty and they weren't letting anymore people in line because Santa had to go on a lunch break at 1:oo to 'feed the reindeer'. Bryan couldn't stick around and wait so we had to postpone the visit. I really needed Bryan there because I was going to take my own pictures and I needed him to get the kids to look at me.
So today we went again, but we went an hour later so we could see Santa after his lunch. The lines opened up at 1:30 so we got in line but Santa wasn't due back from lunch until 2:05. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Bryan took Dylan over to the play area to run around and burn off some energy while I stood in line. When we were about 30 minutes from the front of the line Bryan decided he needed to eat something so he took Dylan with him and they got some cookies & drinks at Mrs. Fields.
By the time they came back Dylan had guzzled down his juice and he was eating a sugar cookie. At this point Dylan was wearing a t-shirt and not his Christmas sweater because I didn't want it to get dirty while we waited. When we were about 3 groups from the front of the line I put his sweater on him. He then wanted me to hold him. OK fine, so I picked him up. A couple minutes later for no apparent reason, he threw up all over me. Fun.
So, I set him down and he was still dry-heaving so I cupped my hands under his chin just in case. More puke. This time it went all over the floor, my hands, his face, his shoes, his jeans, and his sweater. You know, the sweater that I waited to put on him until we were at the front of the line because I didn't want it to get dirty, sweater. Good times. I felt bad for the people behind me that had to witness it. Thankfully none of them puked at the sight. Two minutes later, Dylan was back to his normal self...except now he smelled like vomit. It was 3:45 at this point and I wasn't about to leave without a picture. So here they are:
Dylan got really stiff when we put him on Santa's lap and he started crying and reaching for Bryan. I love the look Gavin his giving him. "Dude, whats your problem?"
Santa started asking him about "Thomas the Tank Engine" and then he calmed down and started saying "yeah" to Santa's questions. No smiles though. Notice "James" and his "James' Tender" in his hands. They go everywhere with him lately.
Here is a picture of Gavin that I took while we waited. He is following in his brother's footsteps. Dylan used to put his feet up on everything too. When we arrived at the mall Gavin was wearing the outfit Dylan wore with Santa in 2005. However, he had a 'blowout' in line and all I had in the diaper bag was this tee, except for the outfit he was going to wear with Santa. I wasn't going to put that on him until we got to the front of the line because he spits up a lot and I feared another blowout as well. Guess I will be doing laundry tonight anyway.
Here is a trip down Memory Lane:
